SDSU Wellness Center Expansion
Project Description
The Office of the State Engineer, on behalf of South Dakota State University solicited Statements of Interest from professional architectural and engineering services to include programming and design services for the addition of the SDSU Student Wellness Center. The existing Student Wellness Center opened in 2008 and has exceeded expectations for demand of the fitness and recreation space. SDSU plans to expand the recreational and fitness space to better serve the students and community. Infrastructure Design Group, Inc. (InfrastructureDG) is part of the team awarded this project.
InfrastructureDG’s services on the project include topographic survey of the existing site along with civil site design of the overall site grading, drainage, and utility services. InfrastructureDG also completed engineering services to design a new chiller line from the Facilities and Services building east to the Wellness Center addition. West Plains Engineering completed the mechanical design for the chiller line and addition. InfrastructureDG provided the civil design and surveying needed to complete the improvements. InfrastructureDG prepared plans and specifications for the addition, site grading, utilities, and a HDPE pipe for the chiller lines to be installed by both open trench and directional drilling. The project is currently under construction.
